How to Register

The registration window for the 2026 spring semester is closed.
You can register for our fall semester from on August 31.

Your parents can subscribe to our newsletter to be notified about the next registration start and other news.

IMPORTANT:

  • All offers from the Children's University of Zurich are free of charge for pupils.

  • Places for lectures, workshops, and field trips are limited and allocated by lottery. This means that registering does not yet guarantee you a place. It's not a case of "first come, first served" (dä/diä Schnäller isch diä/dä Gschwinder).
  • Registration for the lecture series applies to all four lectures.
  • You will be informed by the end of September* whether you have received a place in the autumn semester 2026. We only send out confirmations. If you have not received a confirmation by the end of September, this unfortunately means that you did not get a place.
*We are bringing forward the lottery draw for the course "How do you feed animals at the zoo?" on 26.9.26 and will notify the participants drawn by 16.9.26 already.
  • IMPORTANT: There are no longer any reconfirmations. We will remind you by email about two weeks before the courses and ask you to deregister via the registration portal if the course date no longer suits you.
  • EVEN MORE IMPORTANT: We continue to keep a no-show list. Children who have been drawn for a workshop or excursion and who fail to attend without excuse despite the reminder email will be recorded on this list. From now on, they will be excluded from Children's-UZH events for the current semester as well as the following two semesters.
  • Diplomas are only issued after attending all lectures in person. We make exceptions for excused absences. Please let us know in good time via email if you are unable to attend on a given date. If you wish to withdraw from the whole lecture series, you can do so via the registration portal.
  • If you have registered for the lecture series and been drawn, you will receive your admission confirmation (Legi) at the latest two weeks before the lectures. You will need the Legi to enter the hall.
  • Our lectures are livestreamed. This streaming offer applies only to the lecture series and not to workshops or excursions.
  • Children who take part via our online broadcasts are not entitled to a semester Legi or a diploma.
  • All our lectures are open to children in grades 3 to 6. For workshops and field trips, the intended grade level is noted for each event. We do not make exceptions for children who are not yet in grade 3 — regardless of how advanced these children may be (Children's-UZH is not an institution for gifted education).
