How to Register
The registration window for the 2026 spring semester is open from January 5 till January 18. Register here (registration form is available in German only).
Please carefully read all the information below under IMPORTANT before you register.
Your parents can subscribe to our newsletter to be notified about the next registration start and other news.
IMPORTANT:
The lecture, workshop and excursion places are limited and will be drawn by lot. This means that you have not yet secured a place with your registration. It is not a case of “first come, first serve”.
Please note that if there are multiple registrations for the same child, only the most recent one will be considered – this ensures that all children have the same chances in the draw.
Registration for the lecture series is valid for all four lectures (you can't register for single lectures).
You will be informed by the End of January if you have been allocated a place. Please note that we will only send out acceptances. If you do not receive an acceptance letter by the beginning of February, this means that you have unfortunately not been offered a place.
NEW: In the last few semesters, more and more children who were drawn by lot did not show up for our workshops/excursions without an excuse (so-called no-shows). We will therefore ask you to reconfirm your place about two weeks before each workshop and excursion. If you do not reconfirm your place, it will be released.
No reconfirmation is required for the lecture series.NEW: We have a no-show list. Children who have been drawn by lot for a workshop or excursion and fail to attend without excuse after reconfirmation will be excluded with immediate effect from the Children's UZH events for the current and the following two semesters. This means that they are excluded from any further events in the spring and fall semester 2026 and from the spring semester 2027. It is of course always possible to withdraw from the course in reasonable time before the event.
Diplomas are only issued after all lectures have been attended. We make exceptions for excused absences. Please let us know in advance bye-mail if you are unable to attend.
If you have registered for the lectures and have been drawn by lot, you will receive your confirmation of admission (Legi) two weeks before the first lecture at the latest. You need the Legi to get into the hall.
Our lectures will be streamed live. This streaming offer only applies to lectures and not to workshops or excursions.
Children who take part in our online broadcasts are not entitled to a semester legi or a diploma.
Children from 3rd to 6th grade are admitted to our lectures. The workshops and excursions indicate the grade level for which the event is intended. We make no exceptions for children who are not yet in the 3rd grade - regardless of how advanced they are (the Children's-UZH is not an institution for the promotion of gifted children).
